About Our Driveway Repairs

Driveways take a lot of punishment over time, showing up as cracking, potholes, sunken patches or broken and loose blocks, and problems get worse as water gets into cracks and undermines the sub-base further. What a repair involves depends on the surface, from cutting out and patching failed tarmac to lifting and resetting sunken block paving, and we dig down to find the cause of any sunken area rather than just patching over it.

Why Choose Us

As a local Nottinghamshire team we're happy to come and have an honest look at a problem area rather than pushing a full driveway replacement when a repair would do the job.

The same person handles the assessment and the work, so you're getting a straight opinion on what actually needs doing.

What Affects the Price

  • Extent and cause of the damage, surface level versus sub-base failure
  • Type of surface being repaired, tarmac, block paving, gravel or concrete
  • Number and size of areas needing attention
  • Whether matching materials are readily available for a like-for-like repair
  • Access to the affected area for tools and materials

Common Questions

Will a repair look different from the rest of the driveway?

We aim to match the existing surface as closely as possible, but with tarmac in particular a patch can weather slightly differently over time, especially if the surrounding surface has aged and faded. On block paving using reclaimed or closely matched blocks usually gives the best blend.

My driveway has a sunken patch, is that just cosmetic?

Usually not. Sinking generally means the sub-base underneath has failed or washed out, often due to water getting in, so it's worth having it looked at properly rather than just filling the surface, which tends to sink again.

Is it worth repairing or should I just replace the driveway?

It depends how widespread the damage is. If problems are limited to a section or two, a repair usually makes sense. If most of the surface is cracked, sunken or breaking up, we'll say so, since patching a driveway that's failing throughout rarely holds up for long.
