About Our New Driveways

A new driveway installation starts from bare ground with excavation to the right depth, removal of the arisings and a proper compacted sub-base built up before any surface goes down, since this stage determines whether the drive holds up over time. We carry out installs across Nottingham, Lincoln, Derby and Mansfield in block paving, resin bound stone, tarmac or gravel, sorting falls and drainage and working around dropped kerbs and obstructions like manholes or meter boxes.

Why Choose Us

As a local Nottinghamshire outfit, we deal with the ground conditions across this area regularly, from clay that needs proper drainage consideration to older properties where access for machinery is tight.

Working directly with the customer means the person who quotes the job is the person who oversees it, with no handing off between departments.

What Affects the Price

  • Size of the area to be excavated and how much spoil needs removing
  • Ground conditions, including whether extra sub-base depth or drainage is needed
  • Access to the site for excavators and material delivery
  • Surface material chosen
  • Any additional work such as a new dropped kerb, edging or drainage channels

Common Questions

Do I need permission to install a new driveway or dropped kerb?

It depends on the size of the driveway, whether the surface is permeable, and whether a new dropped kerb is needed to get onto the road. We can talk through what applies to your job during the site visit.

How long does a new driveway installation take?

It depends on the size of the drive, ground conditions and the surface chosen. Resin bound and block paving generally take longer to prepare and lay than tarmac or gravel. We'll give you a realistic timescale once we've seen the site.

What happens to the old driveway or garden area?

It gets excavated out and the spoil removed from site as part of the job, before we build up the new sub-base underneath the new surface.
